Scotland is well-known across the world for its Hogmanay celebrations! Whilst many often think of those which take place in Edinburgh, there are a variety of amazing events on throughout the country to celebrate bringing in the new year.

From the extravagant celebrations and parties hosted in the capital, to the unique celebrations that take place in Scotland’s coastal towns and smaller communities, however you wish to see in the new year, there is an event for you!

Edinburgh Street Party

As part of Edinburgh’s 3-day long New Years celebrations, the capital’s renowned Hogmanay Street Party takes place on Princes Street and the Princes Street Gardens. Crowds can enjoy incredible live music and DJs across five stages, entertainment, outdoor bars, and more all night long in the heart of the city!

As the bells strike midnight, admire a spectacular fireworks display against the breathtaking backdrop of Edinburgh Castle with live bagpipes. It’s no wonder this event attracts tens of thousands of people to the capital to bring in the New Year, though don’t forget to wrap up warm for this one!
